Overview

Ephemeral Clusters allow you to create disposable Kubernetes clusters, which become ready in tens of seconds and are perfect for running tests.

These clusters are created in infrastructure that the Namespace team manages; self-hosting is coming later (let us know if you’d be interested in that).

Ephemeral Clusters are regular Kubernetes clusters with no constraints (e.g., you can also run privileged workloads) other than having a maximum TTL of 15 minutes. They run on dedicated machine resources, so you should experience little contention.

And most importantly, they’re regular clusters using a certified distribution, so you can use any of your existing Kubernetes toolsets to try them out.

As a bonus, if you build on the Namespace Platform, then Ephemeral Clusters can be used out of the box with ns test.
